Pros and Cons of using Chicken Dung / Manure

It sure is smelly but the BENEFITS.. are tremendously great, in Malaysia it is cheap for a price of only Rm 500.00 per ton that is inclusive of transport, well.. depending on where you live. That's only Rm 0.50 Cents Per Kilo. Amazing right ? well you have to get it in bulk definitely to reach that price.

The other pro is that, it contains nutrients that all plants need. It contains Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium, that is the Macro elements needed by all fruiting and flowering plants right there.

Also hey, it amends the soil and turns it into an organic matter and it increases the water holding capacity in the soil. Chicken Manure is great for home organic gardening. How you can use it simple, get a handful of it and give it a nice spread around your tree's, make sure it is not a wet lump just sitting at one side or your tree especially a seedling can experience burn and heat and die from it, so be cautious when it comes to application.

Now, what are the CONS, well read the first four words of this article HAHA. Ok so the first one on my own viewpoint is that when you overuse it, you are allowing pathogens to build up and it may be bad for your crops or your home organic garden.

The other con is that you have to wait out for10 days before you can use your plant bed, your raised bed or even your farm after applying it everywhere, because the heat that comes from it can kill your seedlings, so time is basically another factor. But with great planning you sure can do it well.

So that is all from us, there you go. The pro's and con's of using chicken manure/ dung.
